  Outstanding experience right from initial appointment (pop up clinic no less!) to post operative care. Cannot really think of anyway the whole experience could be improved. Even $30 for all day parking was not unreasonable - compare it to airport parking, and seems very cheap.

  The whole experience was disappointing.
  Midwife Karen who was with me in birthing suite seemed so cold and so fed up with her job. She sat far away from me and with her back to me most of the time I was in contractions having labour pain.
  Midwife Mg Tee ignored when I buzzed her for assistance. I had cesarean and couldn't get out of my bed to go pick up my baby who was screaming hungry, so I had to lie there listening to my baby crying, feeling so helpless.
  The hospital didn't register my baby's birth. They also didn't check my wound to see if it was infected before discharging me. I only knew this when I got to see the Maternal Health nurses and they were quite amazed that Mercy is this bad.
  The women who went around asking parents if we would like our photos taken completely ripped us off. My husband paid $230 for a few black and white photos of himself and our baby while I was sleeping.
  I have been eligible for Medicare for a long time but haven't applied for it. I was on private health insurance when I gave birth, so my baby was admitted to my partner's medicare. I have given the hospital my partner's medicare details long before giving birth. However, 2 months after the birth of my baby, the hospital sent me a bill stating the costs of my baby's blood test and asked me to pay with out of pocket money. I called them up to update my baby's medicare details, and the woman who was on the phone kept insisting that my baby is not an Australian citizen so she is not eligible for medicare and that my baby was born in Australia doesn't mean she is an Australian citizen. I had to tell her that my partner is an Australian citizen so my baby is also an Australian citizen and that baby is admitted to Dad's medicare. She still insisted that my baby was only born here and not an Australian citizen. Seriously that's just one of the most stupid thing I have ever heard.
  Everything felt quite rushed and chaotic. Midwives swifting shifts and don't hand over information very well. On the day that I went home a midwife came to the postnatal ward and almost gave me some other patient's medication. I felt weird so I told her that was not the medication I was supposed to get but she insisted she's got the right patient later to find out the medication was meant for the woman next to me.
  
  Pheww!! Quite a lot of drama from this place so I will definitely not come back here for my next baby. Mercy is perhaps not so merciful after all.
